Hi Team!
So we meet again- another Friday.
Another week in the books...
Did you do some winning this week?
I hope you did!
Today is day 12 of the fast my wife and I are doing....
As I said, it is really just no meat, no sweets, no treats- and, no caffeine, dairy or alcohol...
Many of you may be thinking: Coach, then what is there to eat?
Let me tell you:
I know the list looks scarce- but, I gotta tell you that I am not hungry.
Not at all.
As a matter of fact, weight is melting off, skin is clear, and, my energy is very consistent..
All great benefits, right?
And- my mood is very, very consistent.
The reason being there are no sugar spikes or insulin responses to the sugar spikes. As a result, the body is in a state of calm.
Think about how good your decision making can be if you are consistently in a much more calm state....
Think about how your outcomes would be because your body and biochemistry is working in your favor....
Speaking of all this, yesterday, I interviewed the Founder & CEO of Athletic Greens, Chris Ashenden.
After many failures at many business/ entrepreneurial ventures, he went on to create one of the most high-end, premier, all-in-one greens powders allowing individuals to get all of their daily nutrients in one morning greens drink....
As an early entrepreneur, he took a beating.
As a result, his health suffered and he was really down about it.
After much testing- he found his body was truly in a nutrient deficit.
So, he made it his mission to find a solution.
That passion led to the birth of Athletic Greens.
He has built a niche brand helping people live a healthier life- but it all happened after a very low period of life where he lost his parents home, lost friends monies that were invested into one of his earlier companies and ended up in spiral having to work at a used car lot.
Until he got the spark.
Many years later.
The magic idea.
Then- he experienced immense clarity..
He then went to work on Athletic Greens helping others get their health on track.
What I love about this story is he built a company based on an issue he was experiencing- and, health and wellness were his passion.
At that intersection of need and passion, greatness can be born.
Often some of the greatest innovations can come after a down period.
But, it is always important to remember that our low periods can be followed by high periods as long as we never give up on ourselves.
That is the key.
There will always be ups in life...
And, there will always be lows in life...
We must accept both but never succumb to either...
Where are you right now?
High or Low?
If you are on a high, realize that high will last as long as you are focused, disciplined, and humble...
If you are on a low, realize that low will last as long as you allow it to. As long as you allow the negative thinking to swirl, the victim-like thinking to continue and do not punch back, the low will stay.
Years ago, I had a low.
I had to close several of my training facilities because they were just not working.
I had to do it.
I was low.
But- in turn I realized I was out of position and working on something that was no longer my passion (running training facilities).
That was followed by an immediate high when I decided to start coaching leaders and executives (along with pro athletes), writing books, and speaking to companies.
Coaching, speaking, and writing is what I love doing and my low took me to my high!
If I kept doing what I was doing and ignored my internal compass- I would not be doing what I am doing now- and would not have been able to break out of the low!
We have so much power.
We have so much strength.
What most of lack in times of low is: BELIEF
If you believe (which is what Chris did)... you can break out and move towards your greatest levels of potential.
Believe you can and you will.
Believe you can't and you won't.
Got it?
Now, lets go have a great day and a weekend filled with RECOVERY so we can get back to winning next week!
Your Coach,
COACH DANA CAVALEA
