Today, we are going to talk about "effort"- this is based on a LinkedIn post I made this AM.
Have you head the story about the fly and the window? 👇
There was a fly... (and a window)....
The fly was fighting like hell to get out of the house through the window..
Mustering up all it's might, strength, and power to get to it's natural habitat (outside) through the window....
Unfortunately, before the fly could break the window and escape, well, it died.
It died giving tremendous effort trying to get to it's desired destination: outside by way of the window.
What the fly did not realize was that just 10 feet away, on the other side of the room- was an open door.
All the fly had to do was look, turn-around, and fly with mild effort out the door.
Today, I want you do do (2) things...
1. Ask yourself if you are being the fly?
2.Ask yourself where is the open door?
You see, sometimes we believe that it takes great effort and great fight and great resistance to get to our goals- and sometimes those feelings are the result of trying to fly out the window...
Instead, we should be looking for doors.
The correlation between difficulty and achievement is not always a truth.
The correlation between disciplined endurance and achievement certainly is a truth.
As you work through today- find the moments where you are working way to hard trying to fly through a closed window.
Find the door.
When you do, ,you will get in the habit of looks for doors, not windows.
Go out and win today.
