Hey Team--

We made it!

Monday is here!

Let's have a great week this week...

Getting in our workouts, filling out mind with positives, and taking action on our dreams and goals....

As I mentioned last week...

I had some friends in town for some golf!

One of those buddies is Coach Kevin Wilson...

Kevin is flown around the US by top MLB Hitters, working with them on their hitting.. but most importantly their mental game... which is mostly what hitting is at that level...

Over lunch we talked about APPROACH..

What is the best approach to hitting?

What is the best approach to life?

Outside of only swinging at the good pitches.. and most importantly the pitches that are good for you... we talked about looking at life as 52 Seasons...

Meaning, if you are a baseball player, it is very hard to look at the entire 23 week season as a whole, and optimize success. It is to large of an undertaking...

So in order to get the guys to see things from a "local" perspective, it is about taking one week at a time...

Set up a plan for the week. Set up a goal for the week. Execute on it.

The goal is to create consistency of habits week to week for the entire 23 week season...

Coaching Tip: Each Sunday, reflect on the previous week, and prep for the next week.

What did I do well?

Did I get my work in?

Did I optimize my time?

How was my training?

Where did I win?

Where did I lose?

How did I get beat?

Now for most of us who are not currently playing, you have 52 weeks to get really good...

52 weeks of forming great habits and executing on your goals...

Overcoming stress, fatigue, negativity, laziness, disputes... you name it.. you will face it all in 52 weeks... but if you look at one week at a time..

You only have to MASTER that one week...

Chop away...

In a week, you only have to workout 3-4 times... not 250 times for the year....

You see, the human mind is very sensitive to stimulation... and overstimulation.. over-work, and over-use are the building blocks of long term fatigue and burnout.

Your mind prefers to look at things in the "simple" rather than the complex...

So as you are getting ready to attack this week, ask yourself,

"What are the most important things I need to get done this week?

Then break them down into maybe 7 Bullet Points...

Ex. Health:Workout 4 times   Diet:No Bread This Week Mindset: Read 20 minutes Per Day Family: Make 1 call per day to a family member Work: No windows open on my computer but what I am working on. Social: Dinner with Friends 2x  Rest: Sleep 7.5-9hrs Per Night

Simple.

7-Categories. Master Them. Isn't amazing with all the thoughts you have.. they can break down into only 7 items? If you master these 7, you will have a very rich and fulfilling week.

Do that for 52 weeks... maybe over the course of a few years... and now you have a habit, a legacy, a "what you are known for routine".... that is winning...

Keep it simple. Attack the day.
