Or, as I like to call it "Vacation Auto-Responder Friday"!
Since when this goes out, I usually get hit with those!
But, I have to write to you anyway...
When something is on my mind that I feel can help you, I must share.
Today, I want to talk about the word: CLARITY
By definition, clarity means:
(n) clearness or lucidity as to perception or understanding; freedom from indistinctness or ambiguity
There are 2-words in this definition that stand out to me: Understanding & Ambiguity.
Ambiguity means doubtfulness or uncertainty.....
Understanding means to comprehend or to have enlightened intelligence...
So, when we desire clarity, we are really looking to free ourselves from doubt and uncertainty, while at the same time gaining a higher level of intelligence around a particular subject or way of doing things.
As you know, I love breaking down words because they tell us the real story of meaning.
Back to clarity.
You know, without it, it is impossible to live a great life.
The opposite of clarity is confusion.
So you are either clear or confused or residing in the middle of those two destinations.
Today I want to focus on moving your towards clarity and give you 3-steps to follow to get there.
Step 1: Do what you feel connected to...
You see, too often we are chasing what we think we are supposed to do, but we are not going after what we feel connected to. If you listen and feel, your gut and your instincts will talk to you.
This goes back to Tracy Chadwell a few weeks ago telling us to Follow the Breadcrumbs. Click here to watch.
Step 2: Do what you are good at and find other people to do the rest...
One lesson I have been teaching lately to those I coach is to pretend you have only 1-skill and that skill is the thing you are awesome at, that comes easy to you.
You are only able to do that one skill- and anything outside of that skill, you must find partners, help, assistance, employees, or whatever you want to call them.
You just can not do it yourself because one of the major reasons WHY most can not get clear is because they are doing too much and trying to do everything themselves. This is a recipe for guaranteed frustration and failure.
Do what you do, delegate the rest.
This goes back to the episode I recorded on The Art of Delegation. Click here to watch.
Step 3: Stop Looking Around & Trust Yourself
We are in a time where we are obsessed with others. What they are doing, how they are doing it and then comparing what we are doing and how we appear to that blueprint of others.
This is mind-trash.
This is no good at all.
With that said, we must get focused and trust ourselves with what it is we feel convicted about and what we believe is best for us, our families, our vision, our legacy, and the impact we get to make on others and the World.
To do anything great you will need to go against the grain and find your own path.
It is up to you to own that path.
To believe in yourself and the reason you are on that path.
You can not do that if you are obsessed with the journey of others and are acting like a follower!
That is why you can not get mentally fat.
You can learn more about getting mentally fat by watching this video I did.
When you follow these 3-steps and stay true to them, you will find clarity.
It may not be in the next 20-minutes, but you will find it.
Quiet the noise...
If you build it, he will come.(field of dreams reference).
So, be like Ray Kinsella, and go build your baseball field.
Most will not understand, but in the end they all will.
