Hi Team....

Over the last few weeks, I have been thinking a lot about the word: GROWTH.

I look at the word growth as: Extension of Self Beyond Current Positioning, Intelligence, and Ability.

That is my definition from the Coach D Dictionary.... 

But I really like it.

Look, the mere fact that you are reading this writing, daily, with consistency shows that you want to grow. You want to be more, become more, earn more, be more, etc. and that is what I love about you!

You get it.

You get the fact that remaining idle for too long is the enemy....

Remaining the same- is the enemy.

Our brains and bodies ARE built for growth.

That is how our system is built- to grow, to expand, and to elevate, yet, so many do not give their system what it wants and desires...

And when you do not feed a system correctly, parts of the system begin to die.

Think about nutrition...

When you fuel wrong, your body expands the wrong way, your system(s) become overworked, and, in the case of diabetes and cardiovascular disease, the systems shut down.

They stop growing, building, and expanding.

Think about "gaining knowledge" and learning...

When you stop taking in new knowledge, information, learning new ways of doing things, and immersing yourself in growth based environments, what happens?

Well, you start thinking the same and you become extinct.

You stop working with the neuro-plasticity of your brain and its desire to grow and expand through new ways of thinking, talking, and behaving...

There is also your "Activity-Dependent Plasticity" that is a component of your neuro-plasticity that grows and expands through immersion in new situations, environments, and personal experiences.

This is how we grow...

Immersion.

And the desire for and to become more!

That is what today's lesson is about...

If we know that we growth by the above, we must then commit to stretch ourselves as learners and as people through learning and experiences...

I use a philosophy called "STRETCHING" to always get what I want.....

Or, at the very least get damn close to it...

Here is how stretching works....

Say, for example, there is something in range, but slightly out of range that you want to acquire or achieve.....

When you deploy STRETCHING, you set your target on that something, and you fully 100% commit yourself to it even if you feel you may not be 100% ready, or financed to do it....

Then, once commitment is made, with a deadline, you believe and attack daily to make it happen...

You become emotionally invested and interested in that achievement, goal, and/or acquisition....

You see yourself as having it...

You see yourself in a state of connectivity to it and with it.....

And what happens often times, with the connection and alignment to this outcome and goal, along with daily affirmations, belief, and work.... it is amazing how it comes to fruition....

One of my passions outside of coaching is real estate.....

It can be an expensive hobby at times and often places me outside of my comfort zone....

But, I always make an offer on properties that are in range..... and it is amazing how the next deal, contract, consulting gig, or opportunity comes at just the right time to lift the nose of the plane back in the air.....

I repeat this over and over and over again- and the plane always picks up....

I share this because it takes great trust and belief to do this and work the STRETCH strategy... but so many are just afraid to try...

They are stuck and attacked to comfort, safety, and security ( all three do not exist) and as are result, they become 100% averse to risk and action taking around risk....

And this unfortunately leads to a life of wonder... and a frequent visitation of the saying, "What if I _______________?" * fill in the blank....

When you take shots in life, you do not have regrets even if some of them do not work out on your timeline...

You took the shot....

And winners take the shots...

Champions take the shots....

Today, as we march into December and head into the turn of the year, ask yourself this: WHAT SHOT DO I WANT TO TAKE?

Then, get involved with it.

Get emotional with it.

Believe in it.

And, most importantly, ACT on it.

That is what I want for you.

No longer accept just enough.

Go for the win!
