A few days ago, I spoke to the Leadership Team at a family owned Company that has been around for 96 years...
That is a long time.. that is a lot of years of hiring, planning, pivoting, shaking it up, winning, failing, etc.
You name it, they have had to do it.
And, in order to keep going for another 100 years..
I let them know: YOU MUST BE READY.
💪Ready to win.
💪Ready to grow.
💪Ready for hardship.
💪Ready for challenge.
💪Ready for anything that comes your way.
You see, no longer does: HOW ARE YOU DOING have any connection... or emotional relevance...
People today are numb to that saying....
They answer with sayings like: Good, Hanging in there, Well- you know, One day at a time, Grinding away..
All crap. All useless.
So, if you can build your culture around HOW CAN I HELP YOU?
You will quickly realize, it is very hard to answer that question with any of the above "filler responses"....
And, over time, what happens is, your people will actually open up and ask for help as opposed to doing everything themselves...
Will that happen week 1?Nope.
But, over a short period of time, people begin to work harder together.
This is how teams are built.
This is how chemistry is built.
This is how great companies, teams, and organizations go the distance: together.
And, it also allows you to see who the selfish bastards on your team are who are only at this for themselves and can care less about team goal and chemistry...
So, as you meet with your team... change the dialogue...
