Happy Thursday to you! 

Before I go on... I wanted to wish a Happy Birthday to 3-Champions that are part of our Champion Community: John Caglione Jr., Bruce Bruemmer, and the lovely Rebecca Paris...

Cheers to a great day to all of you!

I wanted to share an important Leadership Lesson with you today.... it is about your People.

These People can be:

  • Your Spouse
  • Your Employees
  • Your Co-Workers
  • Your Leadership Team
  • Your Team
  • Your Board
  • Your Kids

Never Treat Your People the Same or Equally.

I have been coaching people for years- and I realized one thing: THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT.

Not just a little different on the surface. I mean, on the surface they look slightly different, but, they are radically different.

All come from different background (ethnicity, income, social, education, geography)....

So how could we possibly see them as the same?

How could we possibly work with them the same way?

We can't!

And if we do, we are doing each party, us and them a true disservice. 

As a matter of fact, this is what Amateur Leadership does. They look to group and gather- and as a result, they try to treat everybody the same until somebody rebels from the massive sample. 

They are rebelling because they are not the same as the others. They are an outlier to the group. They can still be part of the group, but, they must be treated as an individual.

I always say this when I speak to Leaders, Teams, and Conferences:


Typically, when I end up in a Coaching relationship, whether it be an individual or a team (in sports or business), the process of leadership and loyalty take a bit.

The biggest mistake a Leader can make is walk in, approach the group, and demonstrate absolute dominance in a way that kills the individuality of the group and each person.

But, it is common.

Let's make that stop now.

Here is what I want you to do: REALIZE EACH PERSON IS DIFFERENT...

Respect them the same.. but treat them different.

They have different needs, goals, and learning styles....

Treat them that way.

Get to know them.

  • Come up with a personalized approach for each player on your team...
  • Come up with a personalized approach that considers what motivates this person.. what drives them...

The results will be amazing....

Trust me. 

This is the only way to get people to move for you... take action for you... and most importantly, take action for themselves and the team.
