When it comes to hydration- make sure that you are! Becoming dehydrated can effect many things performance related and can lead to death in its worst case. Athletes that are dehydrated are more prone to decreased performance and muscle strains. If you have played sports for a long time in the heat or have played many consecutive games without adequate hydration, you may have experienced some of the effects of the above chart!

When it comes to optimal hydration, make sure your urine is clear to slightly tinted toward the color yellow. Dark = Danger. Hydration is one of the easiest things to test once we have awareness. Caffeine and Alchohol can deceive us since they pull water from our tissue and give us clear urine- even though we are not properly hydrated.

IF ITS CLEAR; YOUR CLEAR is a saying we live by with our athletes. In addition, we also use the formula 1/2 YOUR BODYWEIGHT IN OUNCES FOR MINIMAL HYDRATION.

After reading that formula you may now realize how dehydrated you really are! Make an effort to drink before every meal and carry a water bottle through the day. On hotter days make sure to increase the amount you drink the maintain color. This is simple yet complex for many. Many athletes and Joes can even witness improved skin tone and weight loss from being properly hydrated!
