So this morning I was working with one of my veteran clients... B.Steiner..
Long time ago.. when I first met Brandon we were talking about getting older.. and how to maintain your shape, health, energy, and everything in between as you click another year on the age odometer..
Now.. a Business Titan like him was obviously a hard charger most of his career.. focused heavily on building a revolutionary Company and Brand.. so it is no wonder that you can often times tell yourself, "I will get to my health tomorrow.. or I have time to get to that later..and later comes a lot later than you thought."
So as I was touring him around my facility.. I immediately referenced his forward leaning posture...
And as a competitive adult basketball player.. losing an inch or two is a devastating blow..
At that moment it clicked for Brandon.. time to get working.. and get #youngerthisyear....
We started with posture, dietary reform, and increasing consistency... "now we have a ballgame"... as he would say..
But.. I will say this.. even those who train everyday still need Coaches to remind them of where they are RIGHT NOW!...
This morning was one of those TEACHABLE moments..
As we were breaking down the day post workout.. I had him look into the mirror and check his posture..
Result: Leading with his head tilted down, core a bit collapsed, and missing about 2 inches..
Then he nailed it.. Engaged his core, stood up tall, and what we saw was a peacock showing off his tremendous chest and body..
(what looked like a stomach protruding because an elongated abdominal - 5lbs lost instantly!)
What was hiding under this temporarily collapsed posture was the BODY we had be working on.. The BODY we had been strength training and sculpting rigorously over the past few months..
I introduced Brandon to higher volume weight training to add some lean mass to his body, improve his athletic frame, and define/ sculpt/ add some muscle to his frame so he could #agewell.. and now he was able to see it..
We polished the diamond today and it was a great moment.. a great COACHING moment..
The Power of Coaching at work again..
My message here is simple:Check yourself and be aware of where you are NOW.. constant reminders, coaching, and accountability are what will take you where you want to go.. physically, mentally, at work, and home.. #theycallmecoach #buildingchampions
