Hope you had a nice weekend!
The last one of June- getting ready to bring on July!
That means summer is officially here.
This past weekend my wife and I went to look at a dog (a livestock protection dog!) who will keep the cows safe!
But leading up to the weekend, I have to admit, I was not feeling 100% peak.
I asked myself "why"- and then started to look at my "key" data points....
My Metrics (Below):
First, I looked at my last entry in my "book of wins"- the book I keep at my kitchen table where I write down all wins- no matter how big or small. It had been 12 days.
Next, I looked at my gym frequency- I was down.
Down from 6 days per week to 3 days per week over the last 2 weeks.
HYW- High Yield Work.
This too was down because I was more focused on tasks than growth and development of myself and business and other projects I am working on!
This translates to getting too caught up in the day to day- and not being focused enough on building and growth (which are my major life enhancers!)....
When I was able to see what was going on here- it all made sense.
You see, we do not just feel like crap or down or no spirited because of "just because"....
It is always the results of the last 10-days.
What have you been doing, thinking, and engaging in or not engaging in over the last 10-days.
Personally, as a Coach, I am always on and available.
This has been my style of coaching since I started coaching at 19 years old.
The cost is, there are very few vacations or days off without coaching.
It is how the field works if you want to do it well.
SO, the days can blend and this is my risk.
This is what I have to be aware of or I too, like everyone else can get caught up in the Low Yield Activities, OR, LYAs.
The difference is- I catch myself and I keep the data points to see what the hell is going on....
It is very important that you do so you too can know "why" things are happening.
Most people have more documentation on the servicing of their car than they do themselves.
That has to change.
Keep data on YOU.
If you are a simple person- keep it basic.
If you love data- well, dig in.
What is cool though today- with gym apps, apple watches, iphones, and fitbits is that most of the tracking can be automated.
It is up to you to stay charged!
