Hey Team!

Did any of you have the chance to watching AROD's new show on CNBC.. Back in the Game?

Being that Alex is a good friend of mine, I told him I would watch the show and give my 2-cents (not that he needs it)...

But the show I thought was great... Helping Pro Athletes who lost it all get back on their feet..

A show about winning, failure, and redemption...

Love it!

Very similar to many of us...

The point in the show that stood out the most was watching Alex review old magazines, newspaper articles, and highlights of former NBA #1 Draft Pick (who lost over 60 million)...back when he was in his Prime and on the way up.

He asked one amazing question..."What was going through that guys mind back then?".... Joe immediately smiled and replied with a fearless response.. saying he was unstoppable back then....

Now, he is down and out, zero confidence, and no swagger.

You see, in order to WIN in life... you must have swagger. Swagger is something most high performers have, but it must be protected. Financial loss, injury, the loss of a family member, poor performances, and repetitive stress can all take down your swagger.

Once it goes, it is very hard to get back.

But there is a way to do it... 

Through daily self awareness & self talk.

Self Talk is useless unless you really have a grip of where you stand physically and mentally TODAY. In the NOW.

QUESTION: How often do you take an inventory on yourself? Your health, your body, your mindset, your career, how you are in relationships? All of it? How often do you have that real talk with yourself?

I find this to be an imperative part of success... especially long term.

You must know where you stand and be open to Coaching (especially self-coaching) to get you moving in the right direction.

Personally, I have shared stories with you about needing to retake control of my health and fitness after adding 5-10lbs. of junk weight one off-season... that was catalyzed by self evaluation...

Once Joe Smith was able to really see and understand his situation... and how bad it really way.. then.. and only then was he able to take action on it.

Get it?

SO don't sit around and sulk over your situation, get to the roots. Once you find them, then the positive self talk and self coaching strategies begin.




These are positive incantations you can say over and over to yourself.. while taking deep breathes and activating yourself physically...

I love to do this while I am working out... give it a try...

Protect your psychology.. 

Empower your physicality...

Keep your swagger up....

With every win and positive moment there is elevation...

Go after more wins and more positives.. that is the key to long term swagger... 

(And for the record.. swagger is not obnoxious.. it is a reflection of confidence.. but must be balanced with humility)... 

Now let's go build that SWAG!
