Playoff time is here in Major League Baseball.
Definitely an exciting time of year for baseball fans..
We wait the whole year for this and so do the players!
But.. I gotta tell ya.. these boys are tired physically but are running on sheer adrenaline.
It is amazing how the body can be restarted and battle through fatigue when that feeling of adrenaline is running through you like an electrical wire.
The reality is though, if you do not train to play and perform, that same adrenaline surge that can power your through a short burst or time period could be the same surge that takes you out physically.
Burnout. Muscle Strains. Stress. Digestive Issues. Belly Fat. Cardiovascular episodes and palpitations.
All of that can become real if the adrenaline surges for too long and you are untrained for the volume and intensity that is thrown your way.
When it comes to working with these PRO ATHLETES we are on it. Balancing their year with higher training levels in April, May, and June.. and lower training volumes with higher intensities in July, August, and September.
Through it all though.. daily massage treatments, deep breathing, hot and cold baths, stretching, and yoga/ tissue work are all a part of the plan.
