Hey Team...
I am sure as you attack each day... it starts with some kind of routine...
And.. that routine is either positively or negatively helping you....
It is your job to figure out what is working.... and what is not...
Where are you wasting time?.. and where are you get a return on that time?
In all of my years working with Professional Athletes... the one crystal clear thing I realized was:
THE BEST LIVE AND DIE BY THEIR ROUTINE.
This is the cornerstone of their success.
They find peace in their routine.
They find confidence in their routine.
They find short and long term success in their routine.
Now last week, I was speaking at a Company in the city... and I spoke about the importance of a great daily routine....
And... although most of the room agreed, there was one woman who did not...
Because, she was afraid that those same routines that can at one point help you achieve success.. can also make you lazy, complacent, and unable to pivot/ adjust to a forever changing tech-based workplace and climate....
I can see where she is coming from...
But, I can also see that she does not believe in the POWER OF ROUTINE...
There was another sales executive in the room that said without his boring routine... he would struggle. He would not have success....
Two different people.... two different views...
But.. I will tell you.. the best of the best...
The cream of the crop... all have A+, tightly formulated, individualized routines...
Case closed.
Now.. what I did say to this woman was this... "You should live and die by your routine.. belief is everything... but you must also have enough sense and personal introspection to take a look at EVERYTHING you are doing... You must check in with yourself daily, weekly, monthly, and even quarterly to see if you are getting the results you want... If not, make a 10% change"...
Through the years... the best players would make subtle changes...
The more inconsistent players would revamp everything... FREQUENTLY...
The less consistent players would always look for externals as the reason for poor performances... where as the best... would always work from the inside out...
Too much change... to quickly can lead to more performance stress....
So, make small changes... and test the rewards....
But give these routines a little bit to get going...
Take 2-3 months to test something....
Then.. you can judge it's value...
But you must stay consistent....
What is your routine?
Write it down.
Is it working?
Is it aligning with your mission, vision, and goals?
Let me know.... I am here to help!
