Hey Team..

I was just watching TV and listening to an interview with Tiger Woods...

He has been getting up at 1am to prepare for an upcoming, over-seas event....

Discipline.

Planning.

Focused.

Smart?

Not sure....

The best way to acclimate is actually GO to where you are going to be...

Also, it takes about 1-Day Per Time Zone to acclimate to a new time zone...

This is really important for even traveling business folks to remember... as well as athletes.....

If you can get to where you need to be a few days early, that is always best rather than sleep depriving yourself on local time to acclimate...

As a Coach, I would advise Tiger against this kind of behavior because his sleep deprivation at local time (EST) will effect all of his prep work, heart rate, and can induce high levels of fatigue before he even arrives at his destination!

Now, we are in a World of extreme behavior as it relates to gaining an edge...

But, we must also remember science, proven principles, and most importantly, how our own bodies work and adjust to stimulus and lack of sleep, altered nutrition, and training schedules....

All important to consider when working with yourself or Coaching others to greatness....

Think about it.. if you are up at 1am EST, how long is your day? Are you taking naps to get though it and keep your body and mind renewed and fresh?

Before Tiger got involved with this plan, my only hope is that he was Coached through his nutrition plan, training plan, sleep/nap schedule, and how to make adjustments when he feels tired....

You see, the extremes can get you in trouble...

Instead, build a plan, tweak the plan, trust the plan.

The body does not like surprises...

Rather than get up at 1am... I would rather put the focus on his arrival over-seas, electrolyte/ fluid replacement from flying, his stretch routine upon landing, and setting his room to make sure it can be dark/ quiet so he can rest while on his new "local time"....

That is Coaching...

Helping the Athlete Plan...

Remember, 1-Day per Time ZONE!

Lets' GO!
