Hey Team!

It is Monday!

Back at it. Ready to go. Let's do this thing!

I hope you had an amazing weekend.....

This weekend, for me, was all about family.

Saturday, heading to see my wife's 99 year old grandmother... (who still lives in her own house!)...

Sunday, heading to see my 4 year old niece in Pennsylvania do some dancing with her dance team....

Why do I share?

Well, common themes, common threads.

It is amazing what a 99 year old and a 4 year old have in common...

What is it? They are completely in the moment....

They take nothing for granted....

One does not know how much of the future they have in front of them, but at 99, they know they have more behind them than what is in front...

As for the 4 year old, she does not even know their is a future and anything outside of today and yesterday.

Now, let's talk about us. The group that was once the 4 year olds, with aspirations of being a functional 99 year old....

When did you stop LOVING the moment?

That is a question I am and always have been fascinated by. Watching these little ladies dance yesterday, they were happy, excited, full of joy... and the entire audience was smiling, laughing, and enjoying their infections enthusiasm and the possibility that sits in front of them....

What if you approached your life like that? With amazing enthusiasm? Happiness? Not worrying about all the crap that most of us worry about....

Most times, it will always be OK...

There was a stat that came across my desk a few weeks ago that went something like this:

95% of the things we worry about never happen. The 5% that does happen, does not happen the way we script it.

Lesson: Stop giving up your happiness, freedom, energy, and enthusiasm....

What is the point?

When I speak with Companies, I encourage all of the folks on the teams to "lighten their load" and to "de-pressurize" themselves and start showing up, and working in a way that is more spirit and enthusiasm driven than analytical and tension driven...

You know that "squeeze" feeling I am talking about? The one where you put so much pressure on yourself to succeed that everyday feels like a battle you remember nothing about.. but you are left tired, fatigued, not creative, and passion-less....

This week, let's bring back our teen spirit.

Let's think about how we can make this week more "playful" and enjoyable by releasing the tension and really falling back in love with what we do, how we do it, and the opportunity we have to do IT...

Have fun...

Put the top down...

Let it ride....

I bet this will be one of your most amazing weeks if you remember to honor your teen spirit :)..

Let's GO!

Chase Greatness...
