Never Accept Losing...

Hi Team...

I want to put this out there....

NEVER ACCEPT LOSING.

You see, I have been watching a new wave in sports where ownership groups reward losers....

Meaning, they may hire a General Manager or a Manager who has a history of losing and give that person a contract extension....

Or, even in business, leadership teams will stay with somebody too long after they keep on losing.....

Well, this is how I see it:

Losers are losers for a reason.

And if you want to win, you can not have losers around...

What I loved most about sport was the mentality that it was built on:

Win, or get out.

Or, what have you done for me lately?

Now, those may seem like brash ways to look at things but what this mentality does is it never let's anybody get comfortable...

It keeps everyone hungry and in pursuit of their best!

There are no "arrivals"....

There is no "coasting"....

And because there is no comfort, everybody works to win today....

They give their best...

They have just a little bit of fear at all times that they may lose their gig and lose it all...

I gotta say this....

Having been a part of it for many, many years- as sick as it sounds, it is actually healthy....

You never get lazy....

You never stop looking for your next innovative idea...

You never take one day for granted because it could be your last....

And you know what?

At the end of each day, you have no regrets because you know you did all you could do that day.

You did whatever it takes...

This is how great cultures are built!

Great cultures are build with an aligned group of people all pulling in the same direction like their lives depend on it...

Comfort is the enemy of growth....

Comfort is the energy of reaching your max potential.....

As my buddy, Kenny Dichter, CEO of Wheels UP says, "Dana, when you start sleeping in satin sheets you start sleeping a little later each day- and that ain't good for business. So, put those cheap paper-like cotton sheets on your bed and you will get up early every day."

Never seek comfort, seek excellence in all that you do....

And if you are leading a team or company right now- let your people know that this is serious business....

It is that mentality, attitude, and culture of excellence that allows teams to do things they have never done before...

To go to a level that may have once seemed impossible....

To achieve something as a unit that could not be achieved by any individual alone...

That is winning.

That is the essence of team.

That all begins by what a leader is willing to accept from themselves and from their team....

Demand excellence.....

And if anybody on that team is acting like a loser, get rid of them.

If you are acting like a loser, fire yourself and rehire yourself under new terms...

Never ever seek comfort- it will cost you everything both now and in the future.

If you want comfort, quit now and move to a 55 and over community in Florida..

That is comfort....

No more work...

No more goals...

No more deadlines...

Just comfort, fixed pension, and daily bingo.

No high performer wants that.

Now, go out and win today and demand that from everybody in your presence.

Remember, Champions run with Champions.

Play to win.
