Gorgeous morning here at the farm...(PIC BELOW)
55 Degrees and some low hanging clouds....
Birds are chirping....
All is right with the world :)
How is your world?
I have to leave in a few hours to go meet some friends in Greenwich, CT, so as I am preparing for the short trip, I was thinking about you this AM.
The word (IDEAS) popped into my mind and I wanted to talk about this with you today.....
IDEAS = FUN.
IDEAS = STRESS.
Ideas are like wonderful dreams that keep us excited, poised, and alive....
But, they can also become stressful when we allow them to own us and when we have a great one- the stress can also come from thinking about "how" we are going to get it done... "what" it takes to get it done... and "when" we can do it.
For many, it is in this mind-game that they abort the idea and find another....
They endure the same process.... and then repeat, repeat, repeat.... never actually getting anything off the ground.
That is sad to me.
That is not what the Champion in you should be doing- you should be taking those ideas and battle testing them.
Which brings me to some great advice I got years ago, and reinforced a few days ago from my friend and client, Brandon Steiner.
Brandon is a memorabilia mogul who was the guy who sold Yankee stadium for millions, built the Steiner Sports brand, and continues to grow in his 60s within the sports memorabilia category. I think it is safe to say he started the billion-dollar business category.
We were on a call the other day and he said this: "If you want to do anything great- you must follow these steps: Dream Big, Sample Small, Fail Quick."
**And then succeed.
This is the formula of battle testing a dream, idea, and vision.
Nobody said you must do a full-fledged roll out on things.
When it comes to an idea, whether it be business or personal, test it.
I have a philosophy I share with those I coach: You can do anything- but it must be tested for 4-weeks. Then, you can make your decision if it is working, trending right or wrong, and if you should continue or dump it.
You must give it your all though during those 4-weeks.
Entrepreneurs, visionaries are all growth and idea(s) people....
Rather than shutting that gift down, why not embrace?
But do things in a controlled lab.
You may find that after a few weeks of acting on your idea, that it simply isn't for you. You did not have the passion and juice you thought you had.
And... that is OK.
Personally- I just want people to START.
Do not hold yourself back.
Take the idea, test it, then decide.
Approach everything this way.
Ideas, diets, training programs, protocols, relationships!
We have to give things and people a chance- an a fair one.
That happens when we test.
Not once or twice- but work the process.
I am telling you... this is game-changing and you will feel so great that you are not just having another idea and letting it go.. instead you are letting it ride!
SO, for experimental purposes, the next idea you have, don't give up on it- test it!
Let's go out and DREAM BIG today....
And if we are going to fail, let's fail quick!
Go out and WIN TODAY!
