Well, it is snowy morning here at the farm- so that means it is time to bunker down and get some work done....
Today, I wanted to talk to you about an interview I did yesterday with Dawn Kelley..
Her company, Barney Butter makes the best tasting almond butter I have ever tasted.... so, I had to find out how they did it.
What she told me really got me jazzed- "We are focused on being the best at making almond butter."
Read that again.
Then, ask yourself this question: "What are you focused on being the best at?"
You see, today, diversification, scale, growth, "multiple streams", are what all are focused on...
I mean it starts with the saying: "You gotta have a plan-B"...
The "B" by the way stands for bullshit- because that is what that advice is...
You do not need a plan B- you need to win at your plan A.
You need to be the best at your A- that is why they call it bringing your A-Game.
Think about how niched down almond butter is- and then when you aim to be the best at the micro-niche, you have a great chance of achieving it.
Dawn said this: "Who has more experience with almond butter than we do? We have focused on nothing but almond butter for over 11+ years."
Now, what if you focused on dominance at something for 11+ years?
You also would know the ins and outs of that something.
The problem today is focus.
Followed by the problem of discipline.
The two are mutually exclusive.
When you have discipline and focus- you drown out all of the dumb ideas that take your attention from your main thing.
When you have discipline and focus- you thank people for their input but keep running your race.
When you have discipline and focus- you stay the path and your emotions are managed because you know exactly what you set out to do.
That is the power of discipline and the power of focus at work.
Today, I want you to start your journey to be "the best" at something.
Be the best at your work.
Be the best at what you do.
Be the best, your best.
Only when you make this commitment can you actually achieve what it is that you want.
And, never forget: The riches are in the niches.....
Get to work!
