Hi Team..
Hope you had an amazing weekend...
This weekend I went upstate New York for a few days.. then to see my brother and his family in Pennsylvania..
Amazing time with everyone and filled with a lot of laughs and lessons!
My niece is 5 years old....
Fearless.
Loves speed.
My brother is much more of a gear-head than I am- so, she gets a full exposure to go-carts, quads, and anything motorized!
I always say: The lessons we need are everywhere around us....
For example.. my niece, Melina had never been on a motorized go-cart before...yet, she threw on her helmet and jumped in with enthusiasm and excitement... (no fear)...
Excited. Ready. Amped for what this experience may bring her....(no fear)..
Then, my brother pulled the crank, fired up the engine and her smile got even bigger!
She gave us a thumbs up and took off!
Ear to ear smile.
Never did this before.
The instructions were simple:
1. Green pedal is to go...
2. Red pedal is to stop...
3. Red kill switch will shut off all power...
That was it. Simple instructions.
Now, how many of us are always looking for more instructions?
Looking to complicate things with a more complex solution?
Or, over-thinking something that really is as simple as green for go, red for stop?
Do you know what drives that?
You are scared.
You have lost elements of your confidence.
You are programmed to hesitate because of all the shots you decided not take take for whatever reason.
So, because you are scared, you create more steps for yourself.
Stall tactics.
You are not willing to jump in, throw your hands up, and drive.
Until now.
We are going to solve this problem the Melina way.
When you are facing hesitation, you must walk towards what you are hesitating on and do it anyway.
You have to.
No questions.
You must do it.
Training yourself to take a step and a shot at things is essential for your growth and development as a person....as a high performer.
And, you know what happens the more you do things?
You do more things.
You take more risks.
You have more fun.
You actually start living your life uninhibited.
Wouldn't that be nice?
Go for it.
Take a shot.
Play to win.
Put your damn hands in the air and step on the green pedal.
Some of you are to excited to step on the red pedal that you forget to take your foot off of it... and begin to forget the green pedal still exists.
Let's go!
For the green pedal!
