Hi Team...
I hope your week is off to a great start....
Today, I wanted to talk about leadership- but from the perspective of tolerance.
Too many leaders today are tolerating poor behavior, poor performance, and they are accepting their gut feeling that says: "this person has to go- something just is not right."
It is critical as a leader of anything- an organization, a family, a team, or of self- that you do not tolerate sub-par behavior because over time that becomes the accepted norm.
If it does- well, you get the erosion of a culture, a family, a brand, a team, or any entity.
You can not accept "just good enough"...
Today, I wrote something on LinkedIn that I believe many can relate to..
Check it out...
I believe the key ingredient to all victory is: ENTHUSIASM.
You ever look around today at how many dead-beats there are?
They are behind the counter at the pizza place...
Sitting on their phone at the check-in counter at the gym...
They are everywhere today...
They are basically holding up a sign that says:
I DON'T GIVE A SHIT.
NO LONGER INTERESTED IN BEING GREAT- GOOD ENOUGH WILL DO.
And the only reason we have gotten to this point is because leaders have stopped riding their asses and demanding excellence in favor of some lazy, sugar-coated version of leadership that says: I am your friend. I need you. I need you possibly more than you need me (because your parents will bail you out like they always do if you need them to).
This is the issue...
Yet, every single one of these people needs structure, discipline, vision, and a plan.
They want it.
They need it.
They actually desire it.
Leaders- do not give up, STEP UP.
The time is now.
The time is now to dig in and set a standard of excellence.
You may lose people- they suck anyway.
Get the right people that believe in you, your mission, the brand, and ultimately themselves...
Start there.
Dump the dead weight fast.
IT does not matter the type or size of the business/ company you run- demand excellence and you will be amazed at what shows up at your door.
Got it?
Let's go out and win today by building a team of Champions.
