Words of Wisdom from THE BOSS, Bruce Springsteen...

Hey Team....

I wanted to share this with you...

Yesterday, I was on my way to do a speech in NYC for WeWork....

And, before I speak, I always listen to some of my favorite musicians... jamming out in the car... turning my car into an amphitheater on wheels...

One of my favorite "story-telling" artists is The Boss.... Bruce Springsteen.

When I was younger, honestly, I was not a fan....

But, as I have gotten older, his gift of storytelling really pulls me in...

Lately, I have been fascinating by the question, "How do people get to certain levels.. while others don't?"

It has to go beyond work-ethic....

Imagine, working as hard as you possibly can at something...

Does that mean you will be a part of the World's Elite Clubs?

The Billionaire Club, The Famous Actor/Actress Club, The Grammy Winning Artist Club, The Professional Athlete Club?

I am fascinated by this... and made it my speech yesterday...

You see, the World is afraid to have the real conversation....

The conversation about the word: TALENT.

Years ago, I was talking to AROD, and he hit me with something I never forgot: "D, Talent is the ultimate equalizer. Luckily, I have a lot of it, and nobody can take it away.. only I can give it away by not honoring it."

And, as I was listening to The Boss in an interview, he was asked, "Bruce, there were a lot of young boys with guitars in the 1970's trying to make it, how did you do it?"

His answer, " I do not know."...

This is the same answer I get when I speak with some of my clients that have built multiple, billion dollar Companies, "I don't know how I did it."...

Same is true with Derek Jeter... Nobody taught him to be that good....It was in him..

And, you have TALENT within you...

So many though run from their talent set because it comes so EASY to them that they can not believe that is their thing....

They then spend a lifetime working against the resistance, as opposed to feeling free and amazing in their Zone of Genius....

Yesterday, I spoke about the Talent Ladder...

Meaning, the Talent Ladder has 10 Steps...

The 1st step is low talent,

The 5th step is high talent,

And the 10th is extraordinary talent....

Let's use an Elite Business Person as an example... or a Pro Athlete...

They are STARTING above the 5th Step...

Somebody that is an amateur business person, or athlete, they are below the 5th step....

When that Elite Business Person or Athlete actually works hard, trains, and desires to magnify their talent, that is how they go to Step 10.. and at that point, they become truly world class: Gates, Bezos, Jeter, Brady, Springsteen, Jagger, Jovi....

Now, does that mean somebody on Step 1-5 can not get to Step 10?

That is exactly what it means.

Yes, you read that right... 

If you are not focused and working in your TALENT ZONE, Space, or Category, the chances of you being extraordinary are not great... 

But, don't be ashamed or scared of this.. because YOU do have a talent...

There is something you can and should be doing where you are already in Step 5+...

The problem is if you are not doing that.... 

Not focused on that...

Not doubling down on that...

Working out of your talent zone is dangerous and will add years of frustration to your journey.. 

When you find your talent zone and calling, the feeling is amazing...

So, if you have been struggling for a long time.. it is time to set yourself free by doubling down on that talent you have so you can be extraordinary when you pair that talent with hard work...

Let's GO!
