This was a great week for me- and I hope it was for you too!
This week, one of my clients, CEO of WheelsUp, Kenny Dichter took his company public and it was amazing to see somebody like Kenny follow his dream to become the first private aviation company to go public.
Then, yesterday, I sat down and chatted with Tracy Chadwell, founder of Venture Capital Firm, 1843 Capital.
She shared an amazing lesson with me- and today, I wanted to share it with you.
Lesson: FOLLOW THE BREADCRUMBS.
Have you ever wanted to do something, achieve something, or become somebody and you were met with nothing but headwinds and resistance?
If you have- this is a relatively common state.
The issue is when it lasts for a long, long time.
Or, even an extended period of time and you are left tired, fatigued, burnt-out, and questioning whether you should continue or not.
Tracy feels this is exactly when you are being told to pivot, change, or adjust.
"It should not be that hard."
Think about the the times in your life when things were just clicking.
Things were just showing up and happening when they were supposed to, doors were opening, you were meeting the right people- think about those times.
Maybe they lasted a short time.
Maybe they lasted a long time.
We have all had moments like this.
Like throwing hot dice in Vegas- everything seems to be working- until it doesn't.
When things are working- just go with it.
That is what Tracy means by following the breadcrumbs.
Just like Kenny Dichter- he always had a love and a passion for private aviation. He tried other things, but planes always had his heart. So, today, he finds himself in an amazing spot.
When we start over-thinking, wondering why things are going so well, and get hyper-focused on the "how" of our next move- it can become draining and toxic to us.
This is also what can get us to go the "wrong way."
Following the breadcrumbs is about following the easy path- the path that feels right.
This does not mean take the easy way out- it means follow the path where you are not experiencing chronic resistance.....
Follow the breadcrumbs and one will take you to the next...
"Tracy, how does one do this?"
"They must get quiet."
You see- you must be quiet enough and still enough to hear and feel what is next.
Too often we live life in a rush.
Tweeting. Scrolling. Hitting the "gram"- and the next thing we know, we have shut off creative thought and just the ability to feel what is right for me, right now.
Scheduled thinking time.
Scheduled time to do nothing.
All critical to identifying your next breadcrumb.
Very, very important.
Do you take time for yourself to be still and quiet each day?
Or, are you constantly in a fire-drill status?
Look, do yourself a favor and please take a little time for you so you can see and feel what your next breadcrumb is.
When you do that- you have an amazing change to win because you are not forcing things... you are following things.
Walk through the doors that are open, that you may not even see as open if you are constantly on the run or on the move or over-thinking.
Stay within yourself.
Believe in yourself.
Go out and WIN today.
And... follow the breadcrumbs.
