Hope you all had a great weekend...
I don't know if you are like me, but over the past few months I still love a good weekend...
I feel like the days take a long time... especially since I have focused on not doing any work on the weekend except for reading and writing!
Honestly though, it is hard for me to just not do anything but recreational stuff on the weekend... my mind is always going!
So, rather than work against the currents, I give myself time to-do things like writing and even some planning work because when I am done, I feel much lighter and better....
Maybe you can relate, or, maybe you think I am a bit nuts... either way you may be right.
Last week, I was speaking to a wonderful client of mine who works in the financial markets....
He is really special and is amazing at his craft...
Whenever I am around high performers, I always like to dig into their headspace a bit and learn as much as I can about them....
I asked him this question: What is your superpower?
Very quickly he answered with: "I love building relationships with people."
Pretty interesting superpower.
"Over time, those relationships always lead to my next deal. I do not start them for that reason, yet over time that is how it has worked."
Make sense, right?
Without people, what can we do?
Have you ever taken the time to think about what your superpower is?
Maybe, it is how you make people feel.
Maybe, it is your ability to see things that others do not see in themselves.
Maybe, it is your ability to spots a depressed asset and bring it back to life.
Maybe, it is that you can see opportunities that others can not.
Whatever it may be, why not honor that superpower by doubling down on it.
If you do that could you imagine how less forced some things in life may be?
What if you focused on leading 100% with your superpower and used that to become who it is you want to become... or what it is your a destined to do, create, develop, build....
When you lead with your gifts... you can truly take the pressure off...
It is sort of like talent...
When you have it, you have to work it.
But, when you have talent that others do not have, you can do things that others simply can not do no matter how hard they work.
So, as we head into this week:
1. Determine your superpower....
2. Lead with it!
